Hands-on PLC Training
At this point, we will have had hands-on PLC training, either physical or by PLC simulator use. We recommend experience with at least two of the major PLC brands. A good choice would be Allen Bradley/Rockwell (US leader) and Siemens (UK leader). If you already know the brand you will be working with, you will want to add that to your hands-on PLC training list.
There are five standard PLC programming languages used among most major brands. Each PLC brand’s software has its idiosyncrasies. Learning those nuances before working with the live control system is best. Otherwise, it could be expensive and dangerous.
For this training phase, PLC trainers that use real PLCs are a great choice. The two recommended below come with lessons. They will give the learner experience uploading, downloading, and modifying existing PLC programs. AB PLC and Siemens PLC, in this case.
